Poured Out

Drops

Serving with sacrifice.

I prayed and asked God to give me opportunities to minister to others on my journey- to bless them and have my eyes opened to see more of Him.

To be poured out.

1 Peter 4:10-Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

And yesterday, I struggled as I recognized- this is what I asked for, I just didn’t realize it would be this hard.

Galatians 5:13-14

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

When we seek to serve in our flesh alone, we fail.

Ephesians 6:7-Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.

We need God’s strength to make our service fruitful and effective.  He gives us eyes to see beyond ourselves and how we are feeling.

To consider- in each act-eternity.

And as we reach up to Him to sustain us we are blessed.

When we have reached the end of ourselves- that’s when God truly works.

Philippians 3:3-For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh.

We say- I’ve got nothing- I need you.

And He comes.  He fills us. He sustains us and makes our work effective-fruitful.

We pour out Christ in us and never run dry.

Invite Him into your work today.

Lord, we need you.  You are our strength, our sustaining grace.  Apart from you we can do nothing.  Fill us with your Spirit today, empowering us in every good work.  That we may give glory to Your Name.
