Prayer for Vigilance

Walking

Oh Lord, my God and King- my strength in weakness.

Walk with me today.

Their eyes are always watching.

Eye on me

Ears listening.

Only by your Grace and the power of your Holy Spirit working in me can I hope to be a Mom who honors and brings glory to Your Name.

Help me.

My kids call me to daily sacrifice my own wants and needs.  Give me discernment and wisdom- most of all Lord remind me of the holiness of my occupation- that moments that seem small could be investments in eternity.

Give me endurance at the end of the day when I am tired.

Help me to joyfully sacrifice- not grudgingly- to choose love and patience.

Help me dig in.

Reach deeper.

today . . .

Pray harder.

Let your love pour freely on these precious gifts of love.

I love them so much God.

I don’t want to look back with regret.

Help me make the most of every opportunity.

Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice- the price I pay is so small compared to all that you  endured to set me free.

In grateful response to all you have done Lord, may I lovingly and freely sacrifice for my children.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Discipline with a Dose of Prayer

washing dishes

As I was washing dishes today, I was listening to some of the sounds coming from a few rooms over where my hubby was talking to our daughter.  She refused to share her football with her brother when her Dad asked her to.

I reached for another cup, and as the suds washed over my hands I considered a crucial element of discipline that I often fail to implement.

I forget to invite God into the discipline process.

Who changes hearts?

Not me, though I may want to through the force of my will.

To foster peace and love between my children, I need God’s help through the Holy Spirit.

He can work in my children in ways that I cannot.  And I realized that there was more that I could do to fully cooperate with the work of God- to invite Him to be a more integral part of this process.

Do you pray with your children when you discipline them?

I do, sometimes, but I felt the Lord saying- include me in everything.  That’s how your children will know how important I am to you.

I must seek Him in all things- and be open about it.  Not just praying by myself or with my hubby- but also praying with them right then- in the moment.

Inviting them to seek God to help them to be more loving toward each other.

Lord, help me remember to seek you in all things and to invite you into all things.  I want to call on your transforming power in moments of discipline.  You change hearts and transform us by the renewing of our minds.  O God, let my children see and know that you hold my heart.  That I live out the words that I say and teach- Pray without Ceasing.  In all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His Purpose.  All glory and honor is yours, both now and forever.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayers for my Children- Day 7

Lord, I pray that even while they are young, my children will speak with wisdom granted to them by You and for your glory.

I pray that their conversation would be seasoned with salt, and they would be ready to share about their salvation through Jesus Christ with everyone they meet.

I fervently desire that they would pray continually and seek you first in times of joy as well as times of trouble and need.

Prayer for My Children- Day 6

May my Children delight in your law and meditate on it day and night.

I pray that they will be like trees planted by streams of water, which yield fruit in their season, and their leaves do not wither.

In all they do Lord, may they praise and glorify your Name.  Psalm 1:2-3
