We Never Outgrow Our Need

As a rule, what is out of sight disturbs the mind more seriously than what it sees - Julius Caesar

We never outgrow our need for God.

Sometimes things occur in our life simply to remind us how much we need Him.

Hebrews 7:24-27

24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. 26 Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

And when we fall on our knees before Him, when we come humbly seeking His wisdom and comfort- it is good to be reminded:

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Heb.4:15-16)

There is no shame in seeking help from our Savior.  One who knows us completely and completely loves us.  He is our intercessor.  There is no safer place in this world than in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Fling yourself into His arms.

Run into His strong tower and find rest for your soul.

Come to Him; cast your burden upon Him.

Confess your need…

and rest.
