It’s so easy to forget our love story.
The overture to one who’s back was turned, arms crossed, shoulders stiff.
No righteous indignation.
No bitter words.
Just love-steady and sure– like waves lapping the shore.
You wait for me.
Pain, anguish- blood.
Rejection- faces twisted in anger toward a pure gift of love.
Laughing at your expense.
Yet you love.
How can I treat your gift so flippantly?
Love that sought me lost and alone.
Love that held me and brought me home.
Love that protects and seals my soul.
Love that refines and makes me whole.
Love that never counts or judges, insists.
Love that is constant, sure, IS.
Today and always ever the same.
Your love will be there when I call on Your Name.
*Amazing love, how can it be?
That you my King would die for me?
Amazing love- I know it’s true.
It is my joy to honor YOU.
In all I do (oh Lord) may I honor you.*
Lord, as I opened Romans today- I was struck again by your amazing love. So many days I take you for granted. Your presence in my life- your outpouring of grace. The strength you give me from day to day- blessings abound. I am humbled and so grateful today. I lay myself at your feet in praise and adoration of Your Name. On days like today I wonder- if I could just remember- day to day- and feel the weightiness of your Love- feel it covering me- passing through me- filling me- surrounding me? How differently I would live. What more do I need? How can I doubt you when I remember your Love? Thank you. For love that keeps no record of wrongs- that flies in the face of all that this world tells us love should be or can be or will be-All glory and honor belongs to you- my Lord and my King. In Jesus Name, Amen.
