One of my favorite things to do is to grow plants or vegetables from seeds. It is so much fun to watch things start so small and months later to eat the “fruits of your labor” or have some lovely cut flowers to enjoy inside the house.
We planted just a few things this year, sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, purple coneflowers, shasta daisies, and calendula.
Purple Coneflowers and Shasta Daisies are perennials. The others are all annuals. It is important to note that some perennials do not bloom the first year if they are started from seed. Shasta Daises are an example of that- so we are growing those to go in our perennial bed with other flowers that are already established.
Here are some pics of the flowers when they are blooming.
